Assistant Conference Chair

Karen Cannell is president of TH Technology, a consulting firm providing Oracle technology services. A mechanical engineer, she has analyzed, designed, developed, converted, upgraded, enhanced, and otherwise implemented database applications for over 30 years, concentrating on Oracle technologies. She has worked with Application Express since its beginnings and continues to leverage Oracle tools to build quality solutions in government, health care, and engineering industries. Karen is ODTUG Vice President; an Oracle ACE Director; editor emeritus of the ODTUG Technical Journal; an Oracle Developer's Choice finalist; an ODTUG Volunteer of the Year; and co-author of Expert Oracle Application Express, Agile Oracle Application Express, and Beginning Oracle Application Express 4.2. Karen is an active member of ODTUG and other local and region users groups.


Oracle ACEGary Adashek

Analytics Content Chair

Gary Adashek, an Oracle ACE , works for the General Electric Company (GE). In his current role with GE Corporate, Gary is a senior manager of EPM Planning/Essbase development & delivery. Prior to his roles with Corporate, Gary was with GE Healthcare as a member of the initial global Hyperion implementation team, with a concentration focus in Essbase & Hyperion Planning. Gary has a breadth and depth of work experience throughout his more than 15-year career, occupying various IT/finance roles within financial institutions, consumer packaged goods industries, and global conglomerates.

Jackie McIlroy

Jackie McIlroy is an Oracle APEX developer with over 13 years of experience. She is the director of product & client services at United Codes with a focus on their products: APEX Office Print (AOP), APEX Media Extension (AME), APEX Project Eye (APE), and Plug-ins Pro. She is an Oracle ACE and graduate of the 2019 ODTUG Leadership Program. She maintains an APEX-related blog (, is an organizer of the Dallas/Fort Worth Oracle APEX Meetup group, and is a volunteer admin of Jackie enjoys mentoring new APEX developers and helping others create awesome APEX applications.


 Helen Sanders

DB/Emerging Technologies/Modern App Development Content Chair

Helen Sanders is an Oracle Ace Associate and seasoned professional with over 21 years of experience in the IT industry. She worked as a COBOL programmer at the start of her career before her employer, Temple University, moved to an ERP system in 2011. It was through her support of that system that she became exposed to Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, and the ODTUG database community. Helen is a graduate of ODTUG's second Leadership class and was program coordinator for the 2016-2017 class. She has served ODTUG in many ways through the years and was Database Track Lead for ODTUG Kscope18 and 19. Tony Scalese is one of the world's foremost experts in Oracle/Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) and ERPi. He is an Oracle certified implementation specialist for HFM. Tony has implemented FDM and ERPi in a variety of industries in order to address a myriad of requirements.

Tony regularly contributes to the EPM community by presenting at conferences and local HUG meetings, delivering webinars, writing for his blog, and posting on OTN. Prior to his consulting life, he was a Hyperion administrator for Enterprise, UpStream WebLink, Pillar, and Hyperion Planning at a Fortune 500 medical device manufacturer.

Minie Parikh

Vendor/Marketing Chair

Minie is a director at EPM intelligence (EPMI) and began her love affair with financial applications at a notable retailer in Atlanta, where she served as an assistant buyer for women’s shoes. While this seemed like a dream come true, she was heartbroken by the antiquated systems and methodologies for planning, budgeting, and forecasting the mercurial demands of her markets. When the world of fashion and finance did not impress her, she rolled up her sleeves and began implementing EPM solutions for large enterprise customers. Eight years later, she specializes in helping clients achieve their performance goals by leveraging the power of EPM applications across domains such as financials, workforce, projects, and account reconciliations. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching dance, practicing yoga, and eating.
