Presenter Bio: Michelle Skamene holds an engineering degree (B.Eng.) from École Polytechnique de Montréal. She has over 23 years international experience in IT, more specifically Oracle. A large number of technical and business roles have allowed her to develop specific skills in the areas of requirements analysis, database modelling, systems integration, and business intelligence, with a core focus on Oracle Application Express (Developer Certified Professional).



Michelle started working with APEX (HTMLDB 1.6) in 2005 and has been developing applications for a large number of clients ever since. With strong experience in the entire project development lifecycle—from initial analysis, design, and development through to testing and production, Michelle prides herself on a highly personalized approach and she always seeks to exceed her customers’ expectations.



In 2010, Michelle launched Reading-Rewards.com, which is an online reading log/incentive program, developed in APEX. Since then, Reading Rewards has continued to grow, and has reached over 450,000 registered users globally in 2020. In 2019, Michelle joined Insum Solutions as vice president - consulting and digital marketing, and she has been focused on increasing visibility of both Insum and APEX since.



Michelle and her husband have three kids and a dog, and when they are not busy developing cool apps for clients, they enjoy outdoor activities, including hiking, skiing, and cycling!
